Thanks guys! :P
Of course Im not totally satisfied with the build, I will be making a few changes for version-2.
Wont make it any harder to build but will improve on the looks and running surfaces. ;)
Already drawn most of it up on cad. while building this one.

Awwwww! Your little engine is sooooo cute!

The standard iso block on the kwaka motors wont take a walbro carb, so I had to make my own from a piece of alloy. ;)

Hi Oz.

Where did you get those pics from? A nearby living competitioner - or what?
It looks real nice to me, but is it really the same type as your "simple plan" cat?
The pics doesn't show that, as you can't see the bottom of the boat.

But it's nice that you are living up the MGB. It has been really dull in here for too looong time. :( (I am aware this could partly be due to the floodings in OZ).
Or maybe its just me, boring the s... out of members and visitors?

Anyway: Please get back soon with more reports and pics about your own project!!
(I "promise" to do so too) :)

Cheers! :cheer:

He lives further down south from me, it is the same except his runners are a lot deeper and not blended all the way to the nose, rather just on the flat running surface.

Oz.

This looks pretty much as your own cat. Though I think your version of the runners will make your boat faster - at least in accelerating.
But that's my theory. :)

Well we will see soon mate! ;)
He took it out for its maiden run on the weekend, The outside runner appears to be digging in on the corners. Not sure if he put a 'non-trip' angle on his runners but from the pics he sent I dont think so. His is also only 13" wide due to the error with scale'ing. B)

Cool homebuilt cats! From watching the video, I think extending the runners all the way to the outer edges of the hull would help a lot, both in helping the boat plane easier and in stabilizing in the turns. Just my thoughts... pretty cool nonetheless!

following some mods to the hull here is day 2 run, still got problems with the exaust system and look like a proper one will be the go.
I'm happy with the result.

Looks like a really stable running boat. I am no expert at all, but I got the feeling that it could be much faster with some more rpm's (another exhaust maybe) and maybe some different popeller.
But then again. What do I know about these things?
(I tell you: Not much). :)

Thanks for the vid.

Cheers! :cheer:
