Killer Kat (Build Pics Updated)

Moofy07 replied the topic: Re: Killer Kat

Hey Is,
Yeah, try it, and see how it goes. As for DDM, they have some great stuff, especially if you are into cars as well. We have an online retailer in Oz who carries their stuff and he seems to be very busy. I have seen a couple of the reed valve add ons and they seem to be working well.
As for your work, B) B) keep it up mate, I am really keen to see how it all comes together.

Hi Is,,
Yes, I do understand what you mean, at the moment I am having some difficulty moving around as I have some problens physically, so progress is slow with some. I love hydros, I have two Blazer Marine hulls, one a Lauterbach thunderboat, the second a Whiplash, both have modified engines, one a Zen and one a RCMK both use CC racing steel tuned pipes. I also have a Aeromarine Chaos same engine but with a Hanson alloy pipe (zero band). I have an old old Cat, the one you see on the right of my sections. It has a fairly standard Zen with tuned pipe it is my plaything.
I nearly have (still building) an out rigger of my own design. The sponson are based on some older tethered hull ideas, the engine is a RCMK-Zenoah hybrid (full mods),rear exhaust with a Need for Speed tuned pipe twin section with zero band pipe. It is being built for straightaway racing. I hope it will be as fast as I hope, because the sponsons have been a evolutionary thing. They seem to be getting better all the time. I have two tubs for it, one for development, one for testing.
This is what I am up to, two boats for racing and the rest for fun, as you said FUN is mandentory.

Hi Isuzu!

Thanks for the pics of your "mono killers". Those pussycats looks much to sweet to kill next spring    Now I consider calling my mono "Bad Doggy". :woohoo:
No, honestly. I have looked your engines up on the internet, and they seem to be of the best breed.
But how much power do they deliver?
As for weight, we should be even (about 30 pounds / 14 kilos), so we are very close at that point.
So it really comes down to weight/power ratio and dynamic abilities in the water.
My guess is that you (maybe) will be the fastest in flat waters, but never in rough waters.

Good luck!

Cheers! :cheer:

That's pretty much been my thinking... I know it's going to be fast from smooth to about a 2" -4" chop....but after that, not sure. One thing's for sure though... I will find out because another saying I like using at the flying club..."IF ALL ELSE FAILS... JUST F@*$#ING GAS IT!!!!" So... who knows. I did add some lightning holes though... I figured I'm really going to have to push it all out on my smooth water pass, so I'm probably going to be dancing with the BLOW-OVER Queen to get my average speed overall up where it's has to be!!!! I have no idea of what a BLOW-OVER queen is.
But that's ok with me.
In my place the girls live for the night, saying "the night is OURS".
- An I say: Indeed it is.... :P

Cheers! :cheer:

Woodie.

(And now it's time for tuning up the hull of a KAT KILLER)

Woodie this is a blow-over (EXTREME). Dancing with the blowover queen is running on the edge to the point of blowing over and not blowing over.... You know, the least amount of boat in the water is the fastest, but finding that sweet spot before you blow-over is the trick!!!! This is an electric, but it will show ya what I mean...

Youp!

But that was a CAT catching the wind. They allways do. A heavy and sleek mono would never do that!
So if you run a cat, be sure to mount wings and flaps on it. Maybe then it could perform a much smoother flight and landing

Cheers! :cheer:
