I didn't recieve an email if you could try again. It is correct at the previous post. I would definitely like to know about the pipe set up also.

Thanks

Here is a video from a few months ago doing some speed run testing. Good stuff at the end. 71.2mph was the best on the day.

QD,

Thanks for the information on the muffler. I sent some pictures of mine by email, but I'm not sure they went through. Did you get them?

Thanks again. Boat should hit the water tomorrow or Wednesday and then a race this weekend.

Brent,

I did get them on my work email today. Just had 5 days off. Looks good, I made some similar before, should work ok, might leak at the back plate though, I had an o ring at the front and rear of the main tube. I'll add a pic here tonight. Should be nice and quiet. Let me know how she goes. Did you mod the motor in the end or is she stock. I forgot to send you the info.

Here are some pics of the same style but with a carbon tube and Ali baffles and end plate.

VERY nice muffler! How does it mount to the pipe and hold together?

It would still be great to hear about the engine mods. I haven't buttoned it up yet.

That new pipe looks killer. I did put a smear of high temp RTV inside the front of the muffer where it mates with the steel ring and screws. The plate at the rear is welded to the body and the outlet tube is a pretty tight press fit into the end cap and baffle. I hope it doesn't leak, but it wouldn't surprise me if the outlet loosened up. I think the pipe and header will get ceramic coated after I test run and make sure I don't have any big problems.

Mark, A picture tells a thousand words. The pic of the parts were taken before I had drilled the bolt holes. The front ring is welded to the pipe, the baffle is welded to the stinger and the whole thing is bolted up with 'o' rings sealing everything up.

Brent, The only prob you may have is it loosening with vibration. Only a test will tell. There will be no power loss. Looks good, well done.

Andrew,

Did you have your Avenger pipe ceramic coated? I thought I would be able to get by without an insulative coating for break in and a race weekend, but I'm afraid I'm going to damage the hull in the areas near the pipe. I like the idea of the enclosed pipe, but I didn't fully appreciate the heat. In retrospec 0.020 inches of steel obviously is going to tranfer heat pretty well.

Also, if I was going to do it again I'd definitely make the muffler of steel.
