I do agree woody! I am done with my semester in two weeks and after that I will be standing in sawdust! Let me know what you think when I start churning pics out!

Sorry, pics coming soon. My build is paralleling my 1:1 scale Garwood speedster replica for material usage purposes. Right now all my frames are cut out and being checked with fids for correct gaps which the longitudinals will fit into, then all frames are getting epoxy encapsulated 2times RC and 3 for the real boat! West systems epoxy and technic is being strictly used and followed. I think that with good frame fairing the epoxy encapsulation will add so much strength that one layer of 1/16 diagonal planking and one outer sheathing layer of spectra/carbon fiber hybrid fabric should be more than enough while still being extremely strong and light weight.

To be honest, the layers... The 1/16 layer itself would be epoxy coated, before, with, and after the hybrid fabric layer... And even this would be epoxy primered, sanded, and two part polyurethaned...

Hi again Smoke!

Once you get to it, the smell of sawdust is wonderfull!
My idea about 2 diagonal layers plus an extra "plain layer" might be some kind of "overkill", but this is what I would do on a boat without any kind of "sheeting" to strengthen the outside of the hull.
Anyway I am very curious: Will you show som pictures of your building process so far?

About my own project: Ahemm - eh....

Cheers :cheer: and good luck.
Woody.
