50" Jersey Skiff first run"Tuning run video added"

isuzudude replied the topic: Re:50" Jersey Skiff first run

Prop choice is definitly an area I'm lost in. I have a couple of 270's to try if I go twin screws, that monster 2 blade I bought, and a couple of 3 blades with different pitches. So it's just going to be hit or miss until I luck across a good combo :S Once I get it built and have some hard dimensions I'll post a pic with hopes of getting some prop help..

Thanks Chad... What kind of mod was done? Do I just go online and look for a modded 482? Or do they do different types of mods to them?

What's the toungue? And do ya mean round the trailing tips or leading tips?

toungue is leading tip! MORE TOUNGUE = less rpm/ more bite
then round the trailing tips to about the same as a pencil! ;)

I just found an excellent article on prop mods!!! rcraceboats.com They explain what each mod will do and how to achieve what you're wanting. Might want to check it out B) B)

Trying to get it to come up on the pipe. I think I'm still about 2" too long on my header. It's a lot closer than what it was... just a little more tweakin' B)

Right at the end when it died, found out the carb came loose  Locktite's pretty cheap, live and learn.

All I can say is "You go hard or you go home"... I'm gettin' my nerves up for the big showdown with Woodie!!! B) I had a friend of mine tell me that used to race dirt track... YOU DON'T GET TO THE CHECKERED FLAG RIDIN' THE BRAKE" One thing you have to remember... My Jersey is only 50"... The cat without training wheels is 65 1/2" :woohoo: Granted it's going to have 2 27cc's in it... but OH WELL!!!!! Chad... Me You and Woodie all think alike when it comes to scratchbuilding ;) It's all wide open... No rules, no plans, no excuses... You build it, tweak it, and put it all on the line B) And if you're lucky, you learn something in the process. But the main priority above all else is... Have a blast and live every day like it's your last!!!! PEACE!!!
