Dont worry if he gets the better of you, you can always throw the 80inch in and run him over!

Awwwww! Your little engine is sooooo cute!

Ozpulse: My project is temporarely stopped due to my broken leg. Doc says it will take about 3 weeks before I even can think of standing up in my workshop.
But I promise to get going again and send pics of every new stage ind my build.

Isuzu: Well, your'e wellcome to visit me in Denmark and compete in rough saltwaters. There will be no rules, except that the first who gets there, wins.
I am located in Faaborg, Denmark (try google earth), and we can launch the boats from my own little speedboat. It runs approx 50 mph, so maybe we could keep up pace without the boats dissapearing into the horizon?
This is off course a joke. But no more than it's also an invitation.

Cheers! :cheer:

Personally... I THINK THAT WOULD BE A BLAST :woohoo: :woohoo: I bought a new Sikk 27cc last night, I'm think I'm going to try that in it first(maybe a twin setup). I did a serious test run on the 85cc twin with a fan, and I can't keep it cool enough to keep it from burning up. I did buy a gps also so we can at least do speed comparisions!! Going with the smaller motor set up, I'm going to have to keep the weight down... CHOP would probably kick my butt. Anyway, Hope your leg gets better soon so you can get back at it!!!

Hi Izusu.

My God how you and others build fast compared to me! I expect using a whole winter and maybe a part of next spring before getting ready for race.
Your idea about a GPS-competition is good.
I also dream about a small HiDef on-board cam. Maybe even a wireless type with a little screen attached to my remote.
Maybe my bank guy has a saying about this, but for now dreams are free. ;)

I've got one of the fastshark FPV set ups. It has goggles you put on that has gyros built into the the headset. The camera is set up on a tilt and pan platform, whichever way you move your head, is the way the camera moves B) It puts you in the vehicle, the only thing you can see is what's in the field of view!!! It's totally awesome, but takes a little getting used too. Check out the HD Pro Hero Camera, it's even water proof down to about 10 feet!!!

Hi Isuzu.

This cam looks really interesting. I have marked the producers page, and will look further into it when the time comes.
Thx for the advice.

Questions about racing classes.

It looks like there is different races going on in different classes of RC gasboats.
Can anyone help me out about this? Specially with information about class rules, clubs and more.
My own boat will be a wooden 56" monohull with a 39 cc engine. Is there a class for this anywhere? (Would like to run ind Europe / Denmark the next summer).
Any help will be very appreciated.

Cheers! :cheer:

Here in Australia that would fit into our offshore class 2 category. Each body has it's won rules & you will need to check with your's what rules thay have set up for racing in your country.

Dicko.

Thanks mate. I would like to compete with you behind the Great Barrier Reef down below. :cheer: But it's a long run for me and my little boat to get there, and I'm not sure my banker can help me making it possible. :S

Anyhow, I would like some hints about where to get information about international standards - if such excists?

Hi guys.

Here is a (rough) draft of how I imagine to do the setup in my boat.
This is in order to put 2 sub-surface props beneath the hull without bending the flex-cables too much, and place the engine well aft too.
The rudder is meant to be a single centered rudder.
The exhaust will be very special: Build as a tube "across" the boat, with a "fat" "turbine" outlet through the deck in both sides.

Any comments or warnings are really welcome before I do something really stupid. :silly:
(Yeah. I know this is kinda exxperimental)...

Cheers! :cheer:
