My update is finally ready. I'm ROLLING now!
First pic shows the boat with stringers side-to-deck, and still with the building-base attached.
Here the building-base is removed. On the top of the boat is shown my original inspiration - a 17 years old "plastic-cigarette", which is totally out of function now.
I have purchased some balsa-wood too. Most of it to carve the cabin over the top of the Blata. But the "balsa-guy" gave me something extra for free. About 3 square meters of 1,0 and 1,5 milimeters balsa. Those can be seen in the "front row" on the pic. (The rest is very much payed for).
Here's the naked rig so far. I have weighed it. As it is seen on the pic it weighs precisely 2046 grammes.
So I expect to keep the weight very low after putting on sides and deck.
Nothing is perfect. Even not for me.
Before these pics I took out the left side-to-deck stringer and replaced it with a new. Later I could see that the right stringer had a bad shape towards the front. A replacement could not make it right, so i cut some stripes of thin balsa-wood and glued them on to fill out to the right shape. Off course for later planing and sanding.
What can I say? I am not near finished with that boat.
But is'nt that the best part? Just working on a sweet dream?
I C U later
Cheers!
Woodie.
