if you got a 2818 or 2916 in your box, the boat does very well with them even stock just s/b.

Guys, just a heads up... if you haven't done the mod to reinforce your sponsons, please do it! Otherwise they may come apart where the fin bolts on to the right one. These boats corner real hard and there's a lot of stress on that 1/4" ply in that area.

I know Randy has reinforced his with aluminum on the inside, so that should be fine, but just making sure you guys do what it takes to keep this sponson together and get good service from your Warpaths! :)

I heard that so mine is pinned like Marc shows - has a alum plate inside, hardwood tips front and rear, pegged with bamboo pegs, and a doubler (small 1/4" piece at center rear of spoonson (inside) and the area over fin and rear of spoonson has been glassed

should work .. I did this when I heard about Will's

Still Amazes me everytime I pick it up how fr.ggin' light it is .......... spoonsons weigh nuthin'''''

To date most of the ones I have built have weighed in at about 5lb dry. About 5.5 with balsa core sponsons. Once it's all rigged though I find it feels kinda heavy for it's size, but one thing is for sure it's a very stiff boat, stiffer than others I've seen and owned. That was one of the goals. And they run pretty good too! :)

Looking real good ! .... as mine gets further fine tuned better it's running hard and straining the turn fin ... yup sponson needs reinforcement ;)

Thanks Scott glad I did mine - thinking about small strut to main body ??

Here is my hood

I have way too much free time ...............

It is spring loaded - used a antenna mount, pc brass solid, pc bamboo (glassed in hood) and small alum at front for latch
still need sealend tape but gives you my idea
