Hey Oz,
Did not know it's your birthday, so have a good one. I know the feeling about rels not contacting you. It seems its ok for you to visit them but as they say its so far to where you live. Funny, I thought it's the same distance to my place as it is to their's. Go figure hugh.

Hi Oz,
Derrh, do you mean to tell me after all these years, I could have just rolled down to the south and saved all that petrol?  Gee mate thanks heaps, now I only need to carry enough fuel for the one downhill trip. Thanks a bunch. :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Hey Oz,
I like what I see. Try running the top (cowl) right to the front, just a little more aerodynamic, but it' you baby do what you like.

Here is a (stupid?) question from an old newbie: How the h... can you put a hot gas engine with a glowing exhaust into a hull made of light plastic foam without getting a total melt-down at first run?

Cheers! :cheer:

My suggestion would be... glass it with poly resin so it wouldn't eat the foam up, after it's set up, cut out where your hatch is going to be, pour in gas and swish around until the foam is gone, glass in stringers... and WALAH!!!!!!! There ya have it. I would go ahead and incorporate all the wood in you're going to need so it gets trapped in the resin. B) Whatcha think?

Moofy07 replied the topic: Re:Homebrew Hydro!

That sounds about right.I would also put a stringer all the way down the center (shaped to the design of the engine bay) or just run the engine rails full lenght, this will add some weight. I know this sort of defeats the purpose of useing foam.

Wouldn't it be about the same as a ready built frp hull? Except, this one would be HOMEBREWED!!! B) Hell... knowing how Oz thinks, he'd probably rebuild twice as big and put a 100cc Monster in it!!! B) Not trying to give ya any ideas Chad... But wouldn't THAT be KOOOOOLLLLL! :woohoo:
