My first build on MGB

seanx450 created the topic: My first build on MGB

Hello everyone,

Here are some pics of my Prowler Mono. This is my first mono and my first gas boat. With that being said, I have no idea how high to set up the drive above the keel on a boat this size. 3/8", 1/2", 5/8"? Thanks for looking and any advice will go a long way.

Nice build! :)

I like to make it so the prop centerline can be adjusted somewhere in the 3/8 to 1/2" range and tune it at the lake. I'm sure other guys will chime here too.

Thanks guys for the complements. I glued the deck on this afternoon. I'll be mounting the strut and rudder tonight. Marc I'll follow your suggestions for the stuffing tube.

Thanks

Dan,

Im going to power it with a Zenoah G231. From what I hear they make great motors for monos due to higher rpm potential. The motor will remain stock except for a pipe and zero drag seals to run in the stock class we have here in D12.

A 231 will work well. I used one for a couple years in mine. I put my stinger 1/4" to the right of center and as low as I could get the stuffing tube. Doug

Go with this if you can...I was just giving my opinion on how I generally setup monos, but I don't have any hands on experience with the Prowler...Doug has! :)

Prowler plans question:

Can we take the files for the Prowler plans
to a Kinkos and have them printed full size?

If there is an easier way to make full size
templates, please explain how it is done.

TIA

Taking them to a print shop is definitely the easiest way to get them printed. Doug
