damians sent some footage for me to post on how the Lakeracer LR-X sport hydro testing has been going for him,best speed of the day was 114 kph (70.9 mph) with a 6719/3 with ears removed and back cut and slowest speed was 111kph (68.9 mph) with 2716/ 20 rate,and still could get a bit more prop,still alot of prop and turn finn mods to try but looking better all the time,

Looking good. Is there any footage of it racing yet? I'd like to see it against others on the course.

Thanks for posting the vid mike, still plenty more we can try , a couple of extra mph will be easy enough to find , once we sort out the final turnfin shape it will run a bit smoother in the corners, just fine tuning now,safe to say it will be a good competetive hydro when set up right, Awesome boat Mike :ok: thanks for involving me in the testing.

No didnt have a tacho, that will be my next purchase i think, be good to know what kinda revs we are gettin,

Mikes gona send me a couple of his props to have a play with and hopefully i can convince my wife that its a good idea for me to go to the speed runs in Huntly over the weekend so i can have a crack at the nz record

This is just my opinion but rather than run a big prop with ears cut off and back cut why not run a smaller prop ? stick a smaller prop on it and let it unload,2517/3 abc will get that thing unloaded better im sure.Congrats on hitting 70 .

Well done on getting 70 mph,im not too far off that and have probably done that too although my gps keeps turning itself off,the best i got on sunday was 108kph although im sure i went faster with 2716 that day,i also tried a 2816 and was spinning easily still but unfortunately i hit something with it after the first lap and bent it a bit,but was looking very promising,put a small radius on front of fin and seems to have made all the difference and has completely sorted the cornering out and can now run very tight corners flat out no worries.
Camera went flat so will get some more vid this weekend and post early next week

I have the best results with a round eared, bar cut & cupped 2718 on my hydro, maybe try one of them if you have one.
