Peter,

Is it possible for you to elaborate more about the defect you referred to in your post #24085? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Jim. The problem we were having was on initial cranking, the eng. would "pop" as though it wanted to go. But any subsequent cranking, and there was nothing. Leave it a moment, and try again --- same thing. We tried all different settings, replaced the sensor, power supply, rechecked the wiring over and over, and finally deducted that a component of the brain box itself, must be bad.. Peter worked closely with Tibor to try to diagnose the problem, and a replacement unit was quickly on the way. Peter wired it in, and the motor sprung to life. Components can go bad, but these systems and the customer service are second to none.

After we get a little time/heat cycles on this motor, we will dial in a custom ign. map, up the juice, try our buttons, and really lean on this combo. As our eng. program goes, this is a very mild tune up, to see where we are.

Thanks for the explanation. I was unaware you answered to either name, Dennis or Peter. LOL. Whatever makes you happy is good.
Thanks again.

LOL Call me anything, except "late for dinner". For you American modelers, today is "Victoria Day" here in Canada ( work holiday ), and talking to Peter earlier today, he told me that he had a "honey-do" list of activities today. So sometimes we do answer questions for each other when we can.

Hey Jim. Dad's post pretty well sums up the issue. Tibor figures it was a faulty voltage boosrer within the module. My current setup is powered on 6V. My new setup is just about done and will run on 12V. Either way the problem is solved with the module changed out. Had the boat out yesturday and all I can say for it being on a zen map, low rev limiter, and power level 2 is holly xxxx. What a monster. Next outting should be wicked with everything turned up. Dad's cat with our custom map was insane around 18K, so I look forward to trying that map.

Thanks for the up-date. I haven't made a decision on which system to use, the Power Spark or the new CDI super coil from Mallory.
