What do you think about running oxygenated race fuel in a modified rcmk engine ?

If you are asking about Ethanol as a oxygenate it will run ok. But your carb pump will need serviced more often and don't let it sit in your fuel system when your not using it.

I have been running my RCMK evo on methanol and 5% nitro but I had some problems with the internal parts of the engine rusting, even tho I ran petrol through it after running on methanol.
Is there a more engine friendly petrol orientated fuel, with performance in mind ?

I would not use Methanol or Nitro. If you are using them you should at least use a good after run oil like the Nitro guys. I have been using Coleman camping fuel (White gas) for the last three years with good results and no carb problems. Burns fast!!

I've had a look at Colman fuel (white gas) although it burns fast it has a very low octane count (50-55) and is not recommended for a engine fuel because of this. As my engine has had the compression raised I will not be able to use it.

E85 a waste of time if the engines had EFI closed loop and knock sensors then it would just fine. Plenty of different gasoline's to choose from try the Reg as it offers more BTUs. Alky for out of site compression (instant 15% more power) and after running flush the system using gasoline with extra oil. Corrosion should not occur anymore. Mike

if you want run some oxygenated fuel that really works find some MR 12 . You can find it at the motor cross tracks or guys that run MC. Also I'm trying there new U4.4 as VP has sent me a gallon to try and report back to them with my findings. These fuels are leaded and the MR12 is 87oct and it's highly oxygenated. This fuel WORKS!!!! They also have a 2 stroke fuel but after talking to several vp reps they all say MR12 and they are right!!!! I run Zenoahs and RCMKs and all are modified with raised compression and have no problems at all running white gas. If you run E-10,E-85,or the latest race fuel of the week you will have carb diapraghm problems. One of my Zens is three years old and still runs great and I've raced the snot out of it on Coleman camp fuel with 8oz.of Honda HP2 to one gallon without having to take the carb apart. You can't use it with Quickdraws they are a different animal. Zenoahs,RCMKs,CYs good to go!

I mounted 3 gas tanks on my dyno to test different fuel and oil mix back to back with a fuel line swap. If I ever get a chance to do that testing, I will have to include the MR12.

I don't know if the race event can tell the difference between that MR12 and pump gas, but if not, an unenforceable rule is just somebody else's advantage over those who follow the rules.

I have been in other racing series that were allowed to run any fuel they want. People played with Nitro methane and poly propylene (if I remember right), but they usually ended up sticking with straight methanol.
