WANTED! CNC-guy for engine rails!

Woodie created the topic: WANTED! CNC-guy for engine rails!

Hey anyone. Here is a most serious request.

I have designed a couple of engine rails etc. to be cnc machined in strong aluminum for my homebuildt 56" wooden single hull cigarette type.
Here in Denmark the expences are sky-high, and I really don't know anyone, who will do the job for a reasonable price, so now I ask the whole world:

Please help me out! I am willing to pay equal to approx 500 USD including materials and shipping by "snail mail".

Please contact me in this forum or at my mail adress:

Drawing shown in JPEG below. Lenght and with of each rail is within 480 x 70 mm.
If you contact me, the drawing will be sent to you as Auto-Cad compatible. With english text and explanations.

If YOU are not the CNC-guy, but know someone who maybe could do the job, please tell me about it.

Cheers! :cheer:
Woodie

PLEASE NOTE: A total of max 500 USD is what I hope for, but not ultimate. I'll take any bidding at my mail and will take a decision no later than 2011-07-01.
Trust is the word, as I will pay in advance by bank transfer!

Hey woodie, i was thinking about your predickerment today and i thought why not carbon fiber. Couldn't you buy carbon fiber sheets and cut what you need with a band saw and it would be just as strong. Just an idea.

I've gotta agree with Goesman, you should be able to pick up carbon fibre sandwich sheet, be lighter and guarantee it is way stronger than alloy. It's easier to work, what with your woodworking skills Woodie it should be a snap  . Sorry poor choice of acronyn but you get the idea.

Woodie,
Can't you simply use some bits of alloy, or ply, or carbon fibre. Bolt them to the various mount points on your engine/gearbox, and epoxy glue into place. Then unbolt motor and fibreglass in the mounts permanently.

What you have designed is a work of art, but it doesn't need to be for your purpose. I know that you want 'perfection', but it's a motor mount after all.

I can print out the pic and mail to my father to see if it can be done, how much. I would not think that it would be anywhere near even $200 USD.

Woodie lives in a Capitalist country - just like the USA. Looks like he's getting quotes from USA & NZ, so I'd say that he'll get a fair run.
He'll have postage/courier to allow for. Guess the parts will need to be well wrapped - can't have them being bent.

I made an offer to get an engineering firm that I know to look at this, as the guy who owns it is a modeler himself (builds 7 1/4 steam locos) and has his own 900 metre track (all stainless steel), so know that he'll be fair wiith his pricing.

I too can't believe that someone can't just run these off for him.

Hey Kiwi.

Your'e right. You two guys, that are ready to do the job, really don't seem to go for the bucks. Really looks like you just want to help me out for a reasonable price, plus shipping.
Such helpfullness makes it hard for me to choose just between the offerings, and that's why I have closed my request for now.
Both of you fine guys will receive the required drawings in a week or so.

Cheers! :cheer:
