WANTED! CNC-guy for engine rails!

Woodie replied the topic: Re: WANTED! CNC-guy for engine rails!

Kiwi.

Nope. Not possible. Not enough space in this (too) tight pack. Boat has to be build from the inside and out. Thats why I need those rails, as they will make it possible to lift engine, gearbox etc. out of the boat for later maintenance. You will agree, when you see the finished result.

Cheers! :cheer:

Woodie.

Added: Just imagine an engine with a boat wrapped around it. :woohoo:

Someone with good CAM software won't need any dimensions on a drawing. Dimensions can be extracted directly from the CAD file.

Each bidder has requested different file formats.
Both will receive a mail with files attached in all the formats, that I can provide, within a week.

Untill then: Cheers! :cheer:

Woodie/Steve,

I was after the PDF as I was going to send it to my father to take to his engineering firm. If they can read the file directly, I'll just send it to them on a CD. Woodie, just send me the files as you see fit. Steve, sounds like you are an engineer, and will be doing this yourself. Was not trying to bid agianst you - just want to see Woodys boat finished. All delayed by custom engine rails - go figure.
Either way he's going to be able to get on and finish the boat.

Kiwi and Steve.

To make things simple, I will just send the drawing to both of you in all the formats I can get my hands on. Then you can choose the format, that works for you.
Please do not try to compete about the price! It's allready hard to make a choice between helpfull guys like you, and a difference in price will NOT be the most important issue for me.

With thanks. :)

KIWI,

I'm not an engineer. I've just been machining for a long time. I had a machine shop till about 3 1/2 years ago when a major health issue forced the closure and sale of the shop. One item I did not sell was my CAD/CAM software, computer or monitor. I have a couple of small machines in my garage now and I take in an occasional job just to earn some walking around money. I make my own hardware for my boats. The picture with 2 pickups on the rudder is for my Y6 with a Qiuckdraw. If you notice, it has internal plumbing so there is no long cooling lines that need to be tied down.

Hopefully soon. My stuff ain't cheap, but I do something no one else does. I put a warrantee on it. If any part for my outdrive breaks, I'll replace it. But if you get hit in a race and it breaks, that's on you.

My rudder brackets will all have internal plumbing. My rudders are made from 7075 aluminum. They will stain if you don't clean them after running in salt water. A simple wipe down and a shot of WD40 works fine.

My outdrive is similar to Speedmaster but much more rugged, and I have drives out there that are on their 3rd season on the bearings.
