"Premium or Regular?"

Ilias_Arkoudaris created the topic: "Premium or Regular?"

I have always had this question,do you think that premium or regular gas is best for our Zenoahs? I am really confused about this matter... ::)

Because of the low compression ratio of the Zenoah engines, regular seems to be the way to go.

REGULAR ---- More of the fuel burns in the cylinder instead of the pipe. The higher the octane the slower the burn. The high octane for me makes the engine and pipe more difficult to tune for a air temperature/humidity/density change. and I really seem to get a little more power from the lower octane. Like loading a pistol cart. for a 2 in. brl. with slow powder, lots of smoke and fire from the muzzle and you can watch the nice slow bullet trajectory. There are lots of different opinions out there. DAMMIT I started another one. Ed

::) Yup ... Low is the way to go ;D

I typically run a 50/50 blend of 86 octane regular and Ozark camp fuel (@ 60 octane)
This blend yealds a low 70 octane fuel that runs REALLY WELL in my Zenoahs.

Is this camp fuel readily avaliable? Im sure this question has been asked a million times, but where can you get this camp fuel? Do you have to change your carb settings too?

Thanks,

I have benn using the Honda oil and I was told to use 10 oz per gallon. I am getting a lot of black oil out the pipe. Shhould I cut back to 7 or 8 oz. per gallon? I thought that 10 oz sounded like a lot.

Also do you mean WHITE GAS for camp stoves im gonna give it a try.

Thanks for yur help Scott
