Crrc pro GW26i

Hi Guy's

Does anybody out here have expience using the CRRC GW26i motor.
I know that you usually get what you pay for, I am wondering in this case if cheap means cr*p.
I am on a tightish budget building a Giesse class 1 cat and would love to use a pair of RCMK EVO rear exhaust motor but funds won't go that far. It won't be a race boat as there is no class for it just a nice fun machine.
Any info would be much appreciated.
Cheers Graham :S :S :S

Hi All,

Here is the address of CRRCPRO I found these engines while surfing the net, I don't know if they are used much. The claimed output seems to be about the same as a standard Zenoah G260PUM. They are available from several US suppliers and they are also listed on Ebay.

Thanks Graham.

Hi Graham i spoke to a guy last year about this engine he reckoned they were as good as the zenoah as regards the build quality but i cant coment on performance as ive never seen one go.Pull starts suposed to be better for a start so he told me.Just another zenoah clone,be interesting to see what performance is like in comparison and what relaibility is like too.

I know there was bit of discussion about these engines on RCU a year or so ago.
Have nothing personally to add, but pose a question instead

* Why would you buy a loose splash copy of the original when the original is so well respected for it's reliability and ease of getting service parts ?

A genuine Zenoah marine G260 can be landed domestically for @ $200
A RCMK which IMO is a beefed/hopped up Zen purpose built at @ $280

Same can be said for many things, take my new Apache hulls. Some said why would they buy from me when theres many well known manufacturers out there selling apache style hulls. My answer is have a look at one and then tell me its not as good if not better than anything else of its type, havent had anyone disagree yet ;) .My point is just because someone makes something similar or charges less for something doesnt allways mean its inferior, far from it.Im sure many said the same about the rcmk engine when it first came out but its proved to be just as good if not better than the zen.

Reliability is a BIG unknown and really how much better can you get from an engine that is actually built lighter than the one it copies ?

Parts ... ah parts, here would be a BIG p-i-t-a with it being a Chinese build and little too no support without going back to whoever is the asian connection for parts

Your right tho Mart about some times the copy exceeds the original, tho the Koreans have done it time and time again, the Chinese stuff is yet to impress most :S

Just opinions of which we can agree to disagree.

Not disagreeing with you Scott just saying yaa never know till you try one.Not seen much about these motors to be honest but as i say the guy who i spoke to whos an engineer had one apart and said he was impressed with it but he hadnt tested it lol.The starter however looks better than the zen one,but when alls said and done you cant go wrong with the zens or the rcmk for reliability.

I too was quite impressed with the Chinese Cy/Sikk engines when they came out and were looked over.
Was not very long before what appeared as better quality castings free of casting holes and defects like a zenoah, the cylinder material was far softer and started to fail and crack unlike the 2 bolt RC version it copied.
Cranks looked better too, but again after a bit of running were sub quality to the zen parts they copied. Rods are so soft that you can actually BEND them by hand

Just saying .....
