NAMBA gas scale hulls?

Mercury94 created the topic: NAMBA gas scale hulls?

Is there anyone making kits or glass hulls for NAMBA gas scale class? I have a Lauterbach kit but I don't think it would hang with later model pickle or winged hulls. Our club runs 1/10 scale electric hydros but are split between classic and modern.

ML boatworks has some wood kits in gas scale. They were originally from Newton Marine plans. There is a guy up here in WA that has a mold for the new turbine style hulls but I've seen the wood boats walk all over them all year. I think the Lauterbach would hold it's own but I don't think it's got the right dimentions for a true scale boat. In the final race up here in WA the fastest boat was a shovel nose "$Bill" but he blew it over in the final. Very fun class.

Ordered a frame kit from ML on Monday. Gonna build a 108 hull converting it to a hull that was a little bigger. Sending my hull registration tomorrow and update when my request is approved.

It's going to be the 1974 U-76 Miss Northwest Tank Service. A little obscure but the more popular variants of this hull Oly beer,Circus Circus,Gilmore etc were taken. This hull is a 7207 which is a variant of the 7474 and has different pickle fork and sponson depth. It did have a elliptical aluminum sponson brace that could be used as a early conard.

I'll have to see if I can find any pics, don't think I saw that one before. Cool. My thunderboat and gas scale boat are both on the obscure side too Why be like everyone else right? I see you have an Oregon Ducks logo there. Are you up here in the NW?

I do live in Oregon and race in Eugene with Emerald RC Boats (ERCB) Namba 8. If all goes well plan to make a couple of races in Washington this coming season at Waughop,Longview,or the PNWTA guys if I get my scale project done. Currently running Gas mono,Gas sport hydro, and Gas outrigger but our club has electric and nitro classes.

I'm over in Spokane, so I have to pick and choose the ones I go to. Our club here fizzled out a few years ago, so the only ones I do anymore are the scale races. Even then it's at least a 2 or 3 hour drive to get to any of them. Ellensburg and Tri cities are the closest scale races for me but the District races never come over the mountains anymore.
