Nothing Fancy, Simple and cheap twin rudder!

Ozpulse created the topic: Nothing Fancy, Simple and cheap twin rudder!

I actually made this rudder set for my drag hull which is sitting there waiting its turn!
All the alloy in these was free, from the metal bin at a local buisiness(With permission)
Everything was cut with a handsaw and filed by hand!
For the hinges I used solid brass fixed pin hinges. $4.00 each from local hardware. :good: These are very strong and eazy to replace!
Stainless screw and nut grab packs. $10 (you will have spares)
The rod ends although complete overkill for the linkage were only $4 each at the local bearing place and he threw in an offcut of threaded rod and some jam nuts! I salvaged these from a previous project!
They still need some shaping and cleaning up but they are very strong and will probably outlast the rest of the boat in a crash!
:drinks:
So all up around $30 for the whole setup!(If you dont have some of the items already) And a couple of hours fiddling in the shed with a cold drink!

Awwwww! Your little engine is sooooo cute!
