I like to mount the strut inside the transom on my Conquests but adjusting the strut is always a real pain. Even with a radio box that it easy to remove, it's still annoying, so I modified this strut to use for this application. The strut adjusts from the top 2 bolts...allows up/down and tilt adjustment, quick and easy. The side bolt locks it in place for extra piece of mind. The side bolt is threaded into the opposing side bracket, so no nuts to hold. Fine adjustments can be made on this strut, similar to a drive unit. I think it will work out nicely. Time will tell.

Note: the skeg was welded on as this strut did not have one. Still needs to be cleaned up a little, I know!
