New Gas Rigger - Lakeracerboats

Scott replied the topic: RE: New Gas Rigger - Lakeracerboats

Mike, that is a great design without a doubt, but VERY seldom will a boat have misfortune of an accident of any type without hulls interior getting flooded or washed down eliminating flotation provided by a dry engine area =(

More security in knowing if center tub will save your engine from Davey Jones Locker would be if flotation provided by a sealed radio box is sufficient to float it ?

hi scott,
i totally agree, when im finished testing with this hull i will post some video with all the compartments filled with water, engine bay, radio box and back hatch,as i mentioned in the video, theres a 5"x 5 1/2"x 2 1/2 foam block sealed in the hull between the back hatch and radio box, there is floatation in the engine bay also that fits eitherside of the engine and in the nose of the tub,the sealed block will provide floatation even if the deck is sheared away from the tub in a very bad collision, leaving your air tight compartments prone to flooding, this video was done as a bit of fun,

hi guys,
heres a few pics of the sideport cowl, you will see that i have changed the cowl back, this will run a 90 degree header setup, looking at doing a cowl that will suit a 105 degree also, the deck is different than the rear exhaust setup as its cut away giving more access to the carb and header, should have some video footage soon as possible, this hull will be running a qd ht engine.

Mike your riggers are revolutionary to the model boating community and I congratulate you on this project and task you are taking on! These riggers are great and the fact that you are offering a rear or sideport layout covers all aspects of motor configurations.

GREAT STUFF!!!

hi there,
I have PM'd marc with idea of kit costs and freight,
i have been working on the prices for the kits and have been waiting for the testing to get a bit further on before i released the final costs,i have some figures that ive put together as there will be 4 different kit options and all kits available in either sideport or rear exhaust tub option,as the tubs have different decks to allow for the different engines, kit options are (round carbon boom option)basic hull kit, basic kit with hardware and (Aero section carbon boom option)basic hull kit and basic hull kit with hardware,at this stage the kits will range from $750.00 us to $1090.00 us dollars, with current exhange rates, the kits will be listed on my website in new zealand dollars, the freight is looking like i can send a kit to the usa, canada,uk,aussie for under $80.00 - $100.00 us,confirming this at the moment,
Im trying to get this released as soon as possible, but this will give everyone a idea of where things are at at this stage,i will be taking names if people are interested
hope this answers your question, trying to get my website up and running soon as possible
cheers mike
