To start off, I've been wanting to build an offshore style cat for some time now. So I downloaded the MaxCat plans and printed them off.
Now the paint schemes on all of my boats kinda come spontaineously, here's the inspiration for this build. While driving between stores that I service I noticed a 42' MTI cat sitting at Vermont Home and Marine (a local Arctic Cat and Mercruiser dealer) so I stopped in to take a peek. The MTI is draped by the Drambui on Ice moniker and looks sweet, picks to follow. I got to talking with the boats mechanic Jeremy, real nice fellow by the way, about the boat. He gave me a tour of this beast which was quite awe inspiring. Here are some stats on the boat, it is powered by twin 950 hp super charged engines spinning used 3,000 props, yes he said they were used, new ones are triple the price. He also told me this hull had been in a few blow overs, one ripping the right sponson clear off. Any way this may be a slow build thread but I will try to be as detailed as possible as I go along.
Here are some pics of the boat I plan on duplicating, it was under cover when I stopped today so I will snap some more shots next time it's out in the yard.
