i have this mold the one you see in the pic what material do i use to duplicate it and how do i do it pls help thank u its a cowling :?

Looks like a cut in half whiplash cowl still in "raw" form to me.

No idea how to make mold out of that.

try a company called smooth on. they sell 2 part silicone that doesnt shrink. easy stuff to work with.www.smooth-on.com i use there silicone called dragon skin for cylinder molds. also try plaster of paris. its easy to sand also.

If the underside of it is smooth then that is your mould,all you need do then is wax it with mould release wax.Usually 6-8 coats is best then 2 coats of pva release agent then two coats of gelcoat and then glass as normal asuming your useing polyester resin.To get a part worth using your mould needs to be flawless or you will have lots of sanding to do to the parts.oNce the glass has gone off usually leave it a minimum of 12 hrs then pop it out of the mould and theres your part.I scratch built a t boat plug then moulded off it and theres lots of prep work goes into it before its good enough to mould from,heres a pic of my cowling plug ready to make my mould from.The female mould is then used to make my parts be it hulls or cowls etc.
