I did a few changes to this one though, the most important being the strut mounted on outside of transom with some new brackets that I made. I used the long AM brackets that came with the strut for mounting the rudder instead (same as on the original build). This puts the rudder leading edge at 3.75" from the transom and the drive dog trailing edge (prop leading edge) at about 2.75". I think this will work well. If I'm not completely happy with the performance, I will move the strut back inside the transom like on my original build. That one ran GREAT! Just wanted to try conventional setup to compare. I've seen some running equally well with the strut outside so I'm giving it a shot. Will report back once I get some testing time on it.
