Zippkits created the topic: Rivett Round Nose

This is one of the Rivett beta builds, by Frank B.
Cowling unpainted yet, but a snappy job, yes?

Any pics of the bottom? What are you going to do for a color for the hatch?

Beautiful lines on the boat and the finish is outstanding !
Will this hull be legal for the NAMBA Classic Thunderboat class as run out west ?
Thanks Ed

Thanks Ed.
As the rules are currently written, no. The Rivett is only 46 inches.

We also have a dropped sponson version, the Rockett.

Joe
I brought up a point on Jim's about working up a set of rules similar to the Classic Thunderboats but for smaller size boats from the older full size limited class hydros. My thoughts were generally anything scale or semiscale from the pre picklefork era using stock zenoah with stock carb and any pipe and a size range from 44-48 inches.
Who doesn't get turned on by a classic wood hydro with rear cockpit and a front mounted hot rod car engine. This should make for a great Old Fart class as boats should be well matched. You and several others have some fine boat hulls available in both wood and glass and it would be generally a semi scale classic ,stock spec motor, sport hydro class. with readily available products.
I know I'm bad about reinventing the wheel but it needs to be run up the flagpole ----

Greg,

We are busting our butts to have the Rivett ready for May 15th.
We are also releasing the dropped sponson version, the Rockett, at the same time.
As if that wasn't enough, we are also releasing the Easy Vee the same day.

We will also try out a new Instruction manual idea.
Since the manuals are running 35 to 45 pages, we decided to make the paper copy an option.
We will list two prices, one with a paper manual, and one without. Kits will be $5.00 less without the paper copy.
All of our manuals will be available on our website soon, in PDF format.

We do production runs of 20 kits, and the first 20 Rivett and Rockett kits are spoken for.
At $169.00 (or $164.00 w/o manual) for the kit INCLUDING the glass cowling AND stainless turn fin with bracket, you can see why. This is an introductory price.

We are taking names for the kits now, but no money.

Thanks for asking!
