Looks great Carlo! Neat and tidy.

One of these mono builds of yours, Pete and I will talk you into using an offset header, and getting the pipe inside LOL. Of course, then it would look like a play boat, and the guys would raz yer a.s. Just havin fun. All the best testing.

Jim,
Thanks man, it seems I learn at least a little something with each build.

Dennis,
Thanks Man. I actually like the pipe being tucked in the boat so it is not seen, but I race a lot of classes and I have to consider maintenance and making sure everything is easy to work on when I am at the races as sometimes you have very little time between classes to work on anything.

Guys,
The weather is beautiful and I have a couple boats ready for testing so I am heading to the pond. I did get some reports back from Duane Oldfield who raced his LightSpeed Mono in Dallas on Saturday. Duane called and told me this was the best turning Mono he has ever driven and it was close to being perfect right off the bench. He kept telling me man you have a winner here. He made one trim tab adjustment and raced it all day on Saturday. It is official it won the very first heat it was ever raced in and that is a great way to start. Duane got a 1st, 2nd, 2nd and a DNF. Said he got taken out by a lapped boat in the last heat. Randy Corbin also tested his and I Quote "Did I tell you how badass this mono is? I have had a lot of mono's and have never had one better".

Well here is a few pics of it finished and heading to the pond:

Hopefully I can get some video of it running after I get it dialed in.

Guys,
Here is a video of the Lightspeed mono with Jesse Lee driving and having some fun trying to hold off Gene Fuselier with his very fast Whiplash. This was about the third time in the water we were still trimming the boat, but it was getting close. thanks to Kevin Todd for the video.

Guys,
I have a brand new 15-5 Propworks West Stainless prop coming for the LightSpeed Mono now that I know what the boat likes for testing this weekend. I think this weekend we will have the boat completely dialed in and should be able to get some good video. Thanks for all the kind words so far, I think I am going to agree with Duane Oldfield and say we have a winner here.

Best looking mono I've seen. Are you going to put a cowl on?

Thanks man.

gabe3366,
I will be putting on a cowl as soon as they are finished. My buddy Duane Oldfield is re-doing the hatch as we speak. Now that we know where the engine needs to be placed in the boat we had to move the canopy forward to clear the spark plug. I should have some finished pictures later today from Duane.

Here is the plug for the cowl being worked on by Duane. You can see how far we had to move it forward for it to work correctly:

Guys,
Here are the pictures of the plug for the new cowl just about finished. Duane sprayed the last coat of primer before sanding with 2000 grit paper. This will get shipped out tomorrow to have the mold made and we should have cowls ready for the boat in about a week and a half.
