LightSpeed Mono Build by CC Racing

CC Racing Engines created the topic: LightSpeed Mono Build by CC Racing

Guys,
I spent a little time last night mounting almost all the hardware on back of my new LightSpeed Mono. I will post pictures here of the entire build as we go.

Taping up the Transom and doing the most important part of finding the perfect horizontal line from side to side, then finding dead center with another line:

Mounting the CC Stinger Drive:

Drawing the lines for the turnfin brackets on a 90deg with the bottom of the boat:

Mounting the CC Turnfin Brackets. We mount these before the CC Trim Tabs so we know how much room we have in between the Turnfin Brackets and the Stinger for the trim Tabs:

Inner Left CC Trim Tab:

Outer Left CC trim Tab:

Inner Right CC Trim Tab:

Outer Right CC Trim Tab:

CC Racing Rudder assembly In line with right engine rail and height set according to steering rod coming from radio box in line perfectly with servo. No bends at all an 1/8 SS rod for steering.

Check out the new Logo for the boat. The finished product will be cleaned up a bit and the lines in the middle will match whatever color the boat is:

So far so good and hopefully we will have time to finish before the weekend and do some testing.

Man that's looking sweet carlo! If you don't mind me asking why is the left outer trim tab mounted at a different angle then the others?

Madanna67,
It just looks that way in the first pictures because they tabs were not tight yet. They are all the same.
JUICR,
Hopefully the weather holds out this weekend and I can get some testing done.

Marc,
Thanks man. I will try and get some video of it running this weekend so everyone can see it in action.

The only video I have of it right now was me showing Randy Corbin what a flex shaft looks like when it is lined up perfectly like it should be-

Guys,
Had some spare time and got a little more done last night. I put everything that belonged in the boat when it will be running including a half bag of fuel and moved everything around until the center of gravity was at 34%. Once that was done I started mounting everything.

Engine-

Engine Mounts-

Trim rails for carb and exhaust clearance-

Check for fit-

CC Bag Mount-

CC Bag Mount mounted, Engine rails trimmed for clearance, coated and rubbers for engine mounted-

T-Bar Mounted-

Stuffing tube Installed-

Radio box set back in to make sure it clears stuffing tube-

Starting to look like a race boat now-

Testing to see if the new flotation I found could go in and out with engine in the boat.-

I think a good solid few more hours on the boat and it should be finished and ready to test for the weekend.

Guys,
The boat is just about finished, I just have a few minor things to do (Stickers, Velcro Carb Cover, etc.). Me and Gene spent a few hours on it last night finishing everything up and I think it came out really nice.

Here is a picture after we put the pipe mount on it, I was still trying to decide if I wanted to trim the back of the boat and tuck it down a little more-

I decided I wanted the pipe even lower so I trimmed the back of the boat-

Radio box finished and flotation installed-

All the transom hardware is mounted, flexshaft cut and finished and Propworks West Prop installed with red prop nut. LOL-

Finished picture of left side without decals-

Finished picture of right side with no decals-

Deck shot with no decals-

I will post more after I get time to put some stickers on it. The weather is supposed to be beautiful this weekend here so we should be able to get some testing done.
