Thanks guys-
The hull laminate is laid up by VIP (Vacuum Infusion Process). The carbon fiber that you see is what I call the cosmetic layer, which can be at any angle and with that being said, I believe having the carbon fiber going fore and aft on a cat brings out and enhances the natural curves of the hull and the added paint lines kicks it off. As for using more color and less carbon fiber showing, then I would do the 45° angle for the cosmetic layer. All additional layers are done at 90° then at 45° to the previous layer underneath.
The Raptor Cat hull is a clam shell construction design with double laminate reinforced hull seam areas and the sponson to tunnel curve and ride pads and the end result is no flexing or twisting of the hull.
With this hull I made the engine rails out of honeycomb laminate and added Carbon Fiber with Kevlar to the ride pad areas.
This hull is 10x stronger than fiberglass and weighs in at 4.5lbs. I will post some more pics when I finish the build.

I finished the build on the cat and will be running it tomorrow, hopefully will have some videos to share..

Here I used carbon fiber rods for holding the back of the radio box at the back and blind nuts with allen head bolts for the front. All you have to do is loosen the front bolts and lift the front up, then slide it forward to remove the radio box. This set up holds the box securely and makes it faster and easier to remove.

The cat looks great Les. I can't wait for some vids, or better yet to see it run at the pond,
John.
