Perhaps I was mistaken, once I get my book back from the boss I will see if I can find the part that stated that.

Here is what I have come up with for the turn fin/air damn. Any thoughts or constructive criticism are welcome. I was thinking about trying to make these out of aluminium, is there a preferred type of aluminium used in this hobby?

most rc racers put turn fins on or near the outside of the ride pad. I would try to make it flush with the side of the sponson / tunel...less drag. looks good

EDIT: most rc boats will tell you if you go too much to scale the boat will not handle well.

I like the layout...guess there is no getting away with trying to hide the pipe under the cowl?

the pipe on most RC "thunder boats" hydros sits outside the engine rails, the rails are 5 inches apart, usually 1/4" plywood. The pipe will usually just fit under the deck, it will need cooling. On zippkits and others people cut cooling holes in the side of the hull and direct airflow over the pipe and out the transom. On Miss supertest 3 there are vents on the deck either side of the cowl that could be used.

Ok, I see the whole pictures now...I did get a couple of vents from ArrowShark, but they are not going to work for this project as they are not even close to what is on the original.

What software do you use for your drawings? I think I may have got one of the cowling you did off the interwebs and used that as a base for the cowling I am having Mitch Dillard build for me.

Some of the drawings that I added are incorrect as they were based on the Newton plans I have which do not show the tail of the cowling correctly...at least in my opinion.
