My First 60" 1.5M CR-ONE Revolution Mono Build

Sandvad created the topic: My First 60" 1.5M CR-ONE Revolution Mono Build

Hi, and Greetings from Denmark, i'll try to make the Introduction short,
I just registered a couple of days ago, and im new to boat building, so please bare with me ;)

Well, this storry all startet with my good friend Martin, who had a dream about designing his own boat Hulls,
after some time he found a company that liked the idea,
they would make a couple of hundred hulls, and they let him design he's "dream" hull and they would take care of the production and all the expenses.
Time went by, and finally he got the first hull home, shortly after i was wisiting and i just fell in love with the boat, the first hull i got to see was just about 100cm (40"), next my heart just dropped, a full 1.5M (60") boat hull, of the stunning (and now named) CR-One Revolution.

Well, now i got' one of these rare hulls, and i just want to post this build so all of you can tag along on the journey.
.
i'll try to update this as often i get the chance, but feel free to "Ping"the thread if you have any questions or want to know more about the build.

Build Info.
Hull/Model:
CR-One Revolution 1.5m (60")
Material:
GFRP
Hull Design:
Martin Carretero (DK)

Here's a couple of pictures of the CR-One Revolution

I hope you like it. i'll update, as often as possible.

Thanks, i'll upload new pics as the project moves along, :)

I know that martin is very happy with the result as well, he will be pleased to know that people liked the design, myself haven't seen a more beautiful looking Hull,

- About the Maker, i actually don't, it's some time since i got the hull, but if you have a personal interest in buying the a hull, i'll ask Martin about contact info for someone who got one in stock.

Alternatively i know that Lorenz Model center in germany brought a lot of the hulls, but now he only got the 100cm (40") model. . . but hey, it is fully painted! and its on sale! :silly:

Ok, Lets get that Z-Drive placed.

This step was quite easy, I made a template by overlaying a piece paper on the back of the Drive,
then i made the holes, it's smooth sailing from here.

Template

Of course i made sure that i placed the template at the right height on the transom above the bottom, (5-8mm above) in such way that the bottom of the axel would be aligned with the bottom, in the same place as a Stinger would.

As pictured on the now installed Z-Drive.

What's next, o yeah, lets reinforce the Hull, with some Carbon Fiber (Twill Weave Cloth)

Tune in next time, for some CF Hull Reinforcement.

Hi Sandvad.

Thanks for posting me personal. Your project looks excellent, and you seem to move fast (MUCH faster than me) :(
What engine do you intend to use?
Remember that a lot of fine guys in this forum are ready to answer any question, you might have, so don't be shy.
I have send you a personal mail in danish. Did you get it?

Hi Woody

Thanks, i tend to move a bit to fast, so maybe i should slow down a notch, slow and steady you know ;)

I ordered a K30 for this boat, should fit with a "silent" cooper exhaust, posting pictures as soon as possible ofc.

i got the PM, but no mail, i've sent you my personal mail.

Ok, lets have a look at the CF reinforcement.

Think i got enough CF ?

Let's fill it up.

Lets get sticky.

And let it dry.

Next up, making a windscreen for the Hatch.

Oh, by the way, the Engine has arrived !
RCMK K30 with WT-929 Carb and EZ-Start, and a QD Engine mount.

Take Care.

Ok, Here we go again.

Let's make a Windshield for the top!

First il count the number of screws/Rivets/whatever that i want, then i measure the length around the pre cut hole for the windshield, then i divide the Length with the number of Holes i want, and then i measure out the right distance between them, easy as Pie.

Here's the markup

Then i just drill some holes.

This is it so far.

Now for the glass, its made of 1mm Lexan plate, cut out by hand, and holes drilled the same way as the rest.

And a couple of hours later with some fitting, filing and me cursing like a sailor.. :silly:

Tadaa.

Ok, i'm back, here's what i've been up to since my last update.

Its time to make hole for ventilation in the back of the cockpit,
First thing first, marking.

Next, drilling holes.

Sawing out.

Filing it down to a smooth surface.

Done with that for now.

Next i'll fit the autobailer,
yet again, we need to get drilling followed by some filing :)

Easy as that

From the inside

Next, Trim Tabs,
First, lets se how they fit.

I'll just skip the drilling part of the Trim Tabs, and go straight to fitting the exhaust pipes.

First up is the marking.

And what's next, yep you guessed it, Drilling ;)

Just about there

Trying the Exhaust.

It Fits, like A Glooove.

Well, that's it for now, any input good advice or questions are most. welcome.

Cheers.
