Rampage 2 for Carlo at CC Racing Engines

Guys,
I have not been so excited about a new boat in a long time. We have built a bunch of these already for customers and they are just awesome boats. I just have been very busy lately and have not had the time to finish mine. I have to give a huge thanks to Will Nichols for screwing this thing together for me because it would still be a pile of parts if it had to wait on me.

OK well this is the New Rampage 2 Red top with Carbon bottom. It has the New CC Racing Monster Pipe and CC Racing Beast Engine with Propworks West R2SB prop for the pictures, but that will be swapped on different days with a CC Monster 29.5 and Propworks West R2BB prop to suit different classes. All the hardware inside the boat Bag Mount, IV Bag kit, Engine mounts, Super Collet, Shaft Saver, T-bar, Radio Box, Servo Mounts, Billet Super Switch kit Water line, Nickle waterline clamps and X-large water outlet are all CC racing Items. The hardware on the back of the boat is all Speedmaster that I had anodized black and engraved with the exception of the CC Racing Turnfins and brackets. I will try to get it dialed in tomorrow and maybe get some video.

Race Mode-

Offshore Mode- With trimmed hatch.

If you like what you see the Rampage, Rampage 2 are sold exclusively through CC Racing Engines www.ccracingengines.com

Boat looks awesome!!! Excellent rigging by CC Racing crew as usual. My Rampage 1 setup by CC was a winner right off the bench and that is no word of a lie! So, Carlo, as you know I have 2 of the original Rampages and I absolutely love them....what can a guy expect to be even better from this new one? Please don't tell me I have to trade them in! Lol

Marc,
LOL, no you don't have to trade them in. The original Rampage is still a awesome boat for heat racing. The idea behind the new boat was to build a hull that would handle the Large displacement High HP engines that are out now. We have put some 29.5's in the smaller Rampage and they are Rocket Ship fast but they are quite a handful to drive. The new boat is about 3-1/2 inches longer and is a clam shell design. It is set up to handle the higher speeds of the new power plants. The first couple we built were for customers with CC Racing 26cc engines and after they were done I could not believe how fast they were even with the little engine. That is what made me decide to build one for me. I am going to race with the smaller engine on Saturday and Sundays I am going to switch to the big engine. If you plan on staying with 27cc or under the original Rampage is still a awesome boat. If you want to run a Big Block style engine then I would suggest the Rampage 2.

Guys,
Here is a video clip from the first time it hit the water. We still have plenty of tuning to do as we never pulled the plug, touched the carb or moved the pipe the 5 short times we ran it today and the weather was just horrible. It rained most of the day and when it finally slacked up enough to run it was 89degrees and had over 90% Humidity. I may have had just a tad bit too much prop on it for this weather and calm water, but overall I am really happy with the way it ran and am looking forward to start tuning on it next weekend. Next time out I plan on getting after it and I will be changing props, tuning the carb and setting pipe length. This was all just base settings in the video and we usually get another 3 to 6 mph out after tuning.

Mark,
The weather was really horrible and I did not want to touch anything because I knew I would be doing it again next weekend when the weather was better. I need a couple hours of some tuning and I think it will be really fast. It was not falling off in the corners but it was not screaming either. I think with the weather the way it was I may have had a little too much prop on the boat especially with a new engine. Next Sunday will be another story.
