Need help routing gas tank lines!!!

8MILLSNIPER007 created the topic: Need help routing gas tank lines!!!

I have a 46" hull with a modded Homelite in it and am planning on using a 24oz Sullivan gas tank. I am not sure about how to run the fuel lines. The carb will hopefully be a Walbro 167 with a primer bulb so I know where the main fuel line goes but as far as the primer line goes, does it go in the little bubble on top of the tank where the vent would go if it was a nitro system? Also will the primer line serve as a vent as well or will I have to install a vent line too? If so where in the heck does the vent go??

If u look close at Sullivan outlet valve/hose area - it can be used for 3 lines

first to carb (I add inline filter)u need to have short hose with 'clunk' on inside tank make sure its big one not small one for nitro

second for your purge line like vent just into tank

third for ur vent - I run this line to small 35mm film canister - into bottom of canister with hose about half way up inside
I add a tiny vent hole drilled in 35mm to and
stick 35mm canister in nose of boat that way if it flips may not fill with water

hope this helps - make sure u use right plug on tank - I believe they are brown for gasoline
Make sure u use tygon line for gasloine

Ok, that is starting to make sense. Thank you! Does the purge and vent line need to stay above the fuel line inside the tank? or does it not matter? To me it seems like if the vent was below fuel as the pressure builds up inside the tank it would force some fuel out and into the 35mm canister?

The fuel vent and purge brass tubes (small tubes that come with tank) I bend slightly so the curve to top inside tank to help prevent that

the vent 'canister' needs to be above fuel tank and brass tube the same inside - bend tube towards top

if u keep fuel level lower than vent u will have no issues

don't overtighten the screw in center of tank stopper just till hold in good - to tight they stripe easy

Yeah I will just not fill it to the top, the boat should run for awhile on 20 ounces. I will probally end up putting a iv bag in it just so you dont have to worry about vents and water contamination. Thanks for the help man!!

I am on a really tight budget for this build and I had the 24 oz tank on hand, when I can afford too I plan on putting an RCMK K30 in it and I will probally put a iv bag in at the same time!

This model looks good one.The brand new Arrow Wind rc boat is fast and furious fun. With a SC 390 type racing motor and a large torsion propeller you can reach speeds of 25+ MPH.

Why in the world did you put this in here? I am sure you are trying to advertise for your boat, but this is not the place to do so. 25mph doesnt sound like very much fun to me, sounds like it would get boring after the first two mins...JMO!!
