Wow, is all I got to say about the paint job! Period.

I like the air ventilation cut out! It reminds me of how I cut the side windows on my OFNA ultra GTP2 "porche body", I cut them so that they looked like it had the windows rolled about 2/3 the way down, then painted the windows like window tint and the body silver. Even still my paint job was very substandard on comparison! Three thumbs up, ur what a min, just two thumbs up and the american flag pole proudly waving the flag!

Is the other side also going to be vented inorder to produce even drag on the hatch? what kind of ventilation is going to let the pressurized air out? I have heard that the rule of thumb is (1")^2 air in:(2-3")^2 vent air out. Ur, at least im going to try to get as close to that as possible.

whatever your plans it is looking like a million bucks so far! Motor?... Prop?...

I believe the build may be more than half the fun...

Ok I'm still a newbie, so help me out here. Doug just cut the one window out for venting air, he said the other side should be closed to keep water out of the carb. So do I need to add more vents or what? Like I said I'm learning here and I know it's probably not smart to learn on such an expensive starter boat, but I relay wanted this boat and paint schema. So any help or suggestions will be more than welcome.

I have seen "snozzlers" or i think it was spelled that way, anyway I have seen them used on rc boats to keep water out of carbs. works on same principal as a carb jetski, it protects the carb from a drink but if u flip it u have to up right it counterclockwise only to keep it from becoming a water scoop.

But doug may have a good point also, in his single window theory.

Scott or Mark would be a more definitive answer on this subject.

I would bet that it will boil down to the speed u plan on going, and how much air the window traps in the hull creating pressure! you may only need some rear vents to make it all work, but I know that most rc boat carbs arent the type u can pressurize and expect them to ajust like putting a car carb in a pressure box...

I believe that if u add more vents, they should be for air in the hull to get out. 1. to prevent hull pressurization. 2. to aid in cooling<--exhuast mainly unless u got some really bad ass watercooling setup going into it, then just 1. but both 1 and 2 are still dependent on motor, carb, speed, heat generated by exhaust...

i would be interested to know what they say or what u find out.

Im using airscoops I made out of UK ordered 90 degree inspection bend conduit with a 1:3 ratio on in air:out air... see 54" bonsisports build pics near the bottom...

Should be 2 to 1 (minimum) --- 2 times volume out as in

you need to vent air out at rear

does your hatch not sit flush on front? looks like it's up on the edges???

I would lose the deep V header and go for 3" 90 degree (can't get 'on pipe' with deep V (too long)

Nightow1.

Calling yourself a "newbie" is bla-bla. Just look at your beautiful paintjob!
About the left window vent: I think it's just fine and well made too.
Personally I would have put a single air intake on the top of the cabin. But don't bother. Your solution is really beautiful and in true respect of the boats design.
Just remember to put in outlets behind the cabin in order to let hot air out.
Also remember: No one is a "newbie". We are all enthusiasts, and no question is stupid. But you can absolutely get stupid answers...

Cheers! :cheer:
