The kits are very easy to build, even for beginners. It was in fact designed with that as the primary goal. To be a good competitive quality rigger, easy for just about anyone to build and yet be affordable to all. At $199 plus shipping, I strongly doubt you will find a better rigger kit. Kit comes with unsharpened turn fin, foam for sponson cores and a wood version of our carb shield. You can do an upgrade to balsa core sponsons if you wish. Simply buy 2 pieces of 2"x3"x36" balsa and cut them in half at 18" and you are all set. I do not supply the balsa cores with kits because it would raise the price by $50-$60. Foam works fine when you build them correctly with quality adhesive. I should have a couple kits ready to ship by next week if all goes well...been pretty busy! Have more materials on order to make more.

We are in the process of testing a new glass carb shield that will be made available (for slight extra cost) with the kits once we've confirmed that it works for heat racing. The wood shield works for some and not for others and I've not really pinpointed the exact reason, so I'd like to offer a glass one in the future, but still too soon to jump in head first.

I am also building riggers. They are $450 plus shipping. This will include the upgraded balsa core sponsons, turn fin, 1/2" rubber isolators if you are using HyperTorque style mounts, initial setup and check of sponsons (AOA, toe-in, etc) and the boat is completely sealed and ready to paint. There is however a waiting list for pre-build boats, so if you want one you should contact me by private message to confirm.

Keep in mind, I do not do this as a full-time job. It is a hobby, and I do it to help push the hobby forward and hopefully make the rigger class more accessible to all. I also like to go to the occasional race, and there's a couple big ones coming up in Aug and Sept that I will be attending. That said, whether it be a kit or a pre-built boat that you want, you should let me know as soon as you can and NOT expect to get it in just a couple days, unless I have it in stock.

Here is a pic of mine with the new carb shield we will be using from now on. Kits will come with wood version (with glass version as an option) and pre-builts will have the glass version of this same shield.
