Miss WaHoo thunder boat build

tapkoote created the topic: Miss WaHoo thunder boat build

Just finished my new thunder boat.
A HiTech hull
Covered the deck with veneer, so it came out a little heavy.
These are the first runs on the river, needs trimmed up and some weight transfer forward.
For you builders a lesson learned.
I like to use shoe goo to glue things down, good stuff but doesn't like fuel or heat.
I glued a battery box down made of tupperware.
Doesn't like that stuff either, third run out it came unglued, unplugged the battery.
Throttle went to idle and Mr. Zulu took a slow cruise up river.

Hi Tap!

Thanks for those great on-board rides! The way to go!
I just wonder: What on-board cam did you use? Could you illustrate the attachment of the cam with a picture of this setup?

Cheers! :cheer:

I took a couple pics of the set up
but I'm a lot better taking pictures than posting them
they're not on line so they don't have a url address
It's a Go Pro cam, comes with a water tight box, the mount is stuck to the deck W/ sticky back tape
It also has a head band --strap it on your head or helmet

Hi Tap.

That cam looks very pro. I will consider getting one for myself. I just wonder how you can keep it in place using nothing but sticky back tape.

VERY nice boat by the way. ;)

Cheers! :cheer:

It's not really double backed tape like you would hang pictures with.
There are two mounts one for curved surface, one flat, they have this industrial sticky on them. It'll probably mark up my deck when I remove it.
Charlie from Northwest Nitro Hobbies had on on his cowling. Flipped the boat and lost the cowling and camera. Two weeks later retrieved it from the bottom. The camera was in good shape, dry and he had about 20 minutes of looking at the bottom of Twinn lake.
I'm going to run it this week end at our race, If it turns out I'll post it. But as far as buying one goes, the money is probably put to better use else where.
