Converting Nitro to electric?

Volcanix created the topic: Converting Nitro to electric?

Hey all
im thinking of converting my nitro tunnel hull cat to electric as the motor is stuffed, its an abc plastic hull that weighs around 1kg(give or take a few grams) and its dimensions are 290mm wide and 1090mm Long.(heres a link to what it is www.rcplanet.com/Kyosho_Lambor...p/kyo41461b.htm )

What would you guys recommend for a brushless set up in terms of motors, Kv, Esc's and props?. i would like around the 80-100kmph mark out of it, as i reckon this hull can take it easily(and be be stable), its currently running an inboard outdrive system , which i think i would like to keep for ease of use/ budgetary constraints.
Please help as i miss running this boat alot
thanks

Volcanics.

Don't worry. Most of us in here are really friendly and helpfull guys. But it's true that the electric stuff belongs in some other forum.

Good luck, and cheers! :cheer:

Unfortunately what you have there is one of Kyosho's lemons. The thing has a lot of Band-aid fixes on it. When a suck-up magazine like RCBM had problems trying to find good points in their review of this boat, you knew it had issues. It's too bad that they can't put the technology that they have into their boats that they put into their 4WD 1/8 scale buggies.
I'd just find another nitro engine to drop into it. A ProBoat .32 would be an easy one or the O.S. . A Nova Rossi .28 would be too much for this boat to handle though.
