Speedfreak Gen II Hydro ready for testing!

marc created the topic: Speedfreak Gen II Hydro ready for testing!

Here are a few pictures of my new Speedfreak Gen II hydro. Will be testing soon, and the ultimate testing field will be in London at the Northern Nats in a few weeks!

It is powered by a CC Racing "THE BEAST" engine and Powermaster pipe. Custom prop by Brent Daily at Propworks West for this one. I also have a few Voodoo props that Gregg sent me to test.

Sweet! Like the UFC theme. Have you run the boat yet? Im thinking about getting Carlo to build me a G4 Insane Hydro with his BEAST motor.

That is really sweet Marc ... real sweet !!

Boat IMO is going to turn a whole lot better with a larger turn fin tho, may want to build a few bigger so you can test

Thanks for the nice comments. I think the G4 with a BEAST would be an awesome combo. I haven't had the pleasure of seeing a G4 in action yet though...I hope someone has one in London at the Northern Nats...curious to see how they compete. Great looking hull!

Thanks for the comment Scott. I have the turn fin situation covered! :) I had Topsecret make me one without any holes in the bracket. I drilled it to match the pattern of this fin and machined slots to allow tilting sideways like we do on the Whips. I will test the boat with the supplied fin, then compare with the other. I hear they run really well with the TS fin. I also have 3 or 4 other fins I can try if needed. :) Ross has been doing really well with his with the SM fin though.

the fin does look a bit small but who knows, testing will tell for sure
Marc do you shorten your rudder blades? as ive found gains from doing this

Super job!!! I can see right now that I'm going to have to get away from this scratchbuilding (As much as I love it) and put me one of those together!!!! The only problem is, only place close to here to race is Lone Star Boat Modelers Club, and I went out there last Sunday, but there was not one person there. But hey, if not, I'll drive it at the big retension pond I go to. Again, FANTASTIC JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!! Would love to see video!!!
