hi everyone just built my first boat 55"long 12"wide homelite ST285bc motor 65mm v45 prop not sure what v45 means getting about 20mph i think pretty much all home made except rudder and prop and shaft hoping to get some input on getting more speed andmotor seems to stall after about 10 min maybe getting hot made the muffler not sure if thats right either so any help would be great ill try and figure out how to put pics in here

Hi welcome if your motor is cutting out after ten minutes check your tank vent it could be that causing fuel starvation ;) .What carb are you using? if its stock then swapping to a walbro wa167 or similar sized carb will improve performance a bit.What prop are you using?.How about some close up pics of your setup on the transom and of the motor and inside the hull?.

I did two threads on here one right next to this one with pics hoping to get more input on what props to run the prop i got is a aquacraft 65mm v45 boat weighs 20 lbs

Looks like your prop/srut are low in the water. Try raising them up. This should free up some rpm and help the hull run drier

65 mm prop is way way too small,you want something like a prather 280 (80 mmdiam) the smallest id go is a prather 275(75 mm).65 mm needs to spin fast,try a bigger prop.Off to check your pics out lol.
