RE: Kit built Gas Fire fighter rigger ... Exotic

Just note: ride surface with shingles & tunnel must be built with ZERO dihedral angle and ZERO belly for the distance shingles have.
First and last shingle must be level with the rest of the stack .
My build has an AOA or 3.5* on left and 4* on right ride surfaces ( Shingle stack ) using a electronic digital inclinometer for set up .....

When you say left and right ride surfaces, do you mean on each sponson, or do you mean 3.5 degrees on left sponson and 4 on the right sponson? If you are talking about left and right on both sponsons, shouldn't one be the opposite of the other? If you mean the latter, then why more AOA on the right sponson? Just trying to get this straight so I can understand your decision for doing this. :) Thanks.

Each shingle stack on each sponson is IDENTICAL and even inner to outer stack. AOA was shimmed within tub under rear boom to slightly flatten the left side to 3.5* and tip up the right to 4*
Reason is two fold ... first to have a tad more ride surface on left causing a bit more water drag to counter right side turn fin drag ... second having a tad bit more air pressure on top of left sponson to help counter prop torque wanting to lift the left side up.

** Also note: Left side has ZERO toe in while right has @ 1/16" with turn fin bracket having a bit more yet. ** you trim for straight line tracking having a straight ahead rudder by toeing in or out the turn fin :ok:

OK, got ya now. Just wanted to clear up if you were referring to the different angles in the stacks or from sponson to sponson. Thanks.

It makes good sense to have a tad more ride surface on the left sponson to counter act the turn fins drag.Joe at zippkits used this idea on the Rockett hydros and i now use this on my own,the ride pads are also wider on the left than the right at 3/4" and 1/2",Both designs run straight as a die and turn very well.I need to build a rigger i have a set of the plans here, thanks for sharing your ideas Scott they might come in handy.
