Hi guys,
After dealing with the hole in the inlet manifold I took the boat to the lake today.I mixed fuel at a little over 25 to 1 as the engine is new. After a few pulls the engine started no problem. My dad made some adjustments to the carb needles and the engine ran perfectly. However on his way to put the boat in the water he had to turn to the boat around and raised the nose up a bit. The engine stalled and it didn't run properly after that. It would start splutter some and then stall and no amount of needle adjustment could make it run properly. The boat has a clutch so that's a consideration too when tuning the carb. What are we doing wrong. This project is getting seriously frustrating now.:dash:
I would reset the mixture screws to nominal to start with, are you running a filter in your fuel line? Take the cap off the carby and check the screen filter if thats clear then have a look at the needle and seat! it sounds like it has just picked up some dirt or something!

Also make sure the tank has a good vent. Could be developing a vacuum in the tank, just something to check. Nothing to do with your problem
but in a marine engine 25:1 isn't giving any extra oil but rather on the lean side of oil/fuel mix ratio.
