Carb Question

Captain Hook created the topic: Carb Question

My Homelite v-bottom "Old Reliable" ran perfect one day, the next day will only idle and top end.
I'm good with carbs and have worked on hundreds, but Walbros are not my specialty!
I finger choked it high RPM etc. etc., changed needle settings etc. etc., but it still dies just off idle.
I can disassemble and clean it up, but that means pulling the motor (something I'm trying to avoid).
Any simple advice? Is something blocked? Am I wasting my time cleaning it?

Crap in the carb .... fuel pump side primary screen would be the first place to look IMO

Second would be looking at blown out cylinder or carb manifold gaskets.

 yes, you have too extract engine from the hull

"Old Reliable" is back and living up to her name. I should have used my old Bultaco experience, when in doubt, replace the plug. The sypmtoms were classic bad plug, I guess my brain was turned off. A new NGK and back to normal. Champions (all I could get at the time) make great fishing weights.
