Looking for a starter for my Zenoah 26cc . Have the pulley mounted. Have the belt . Tried to use a Hobbico 90 and also a Hobbico 180 , both was not strong enough to turn the engine over fast enough to start the engine. Have any ideas what starter to use and also where is the best place to buy the starter

I have the sulivan starter old version and I am using 24 volts works great.

If I have a problem because of a dump and water I loosen the plug until she starts
maybe this might work for you ...try 24 volts on the starter you have

Another thing to consider is your starting battery. I use a big deep cycle marine battery to charge my FE boats. I have lent it to guys having trouble with their starters. Those little 6 amp-hour gel cells people cart around simply cannot deliver the voltage. If you are going to use a big high torque high drain starter you need a battery that is up to the task.

I sue the Optima blue top deep cycle battery. It ain't cheap, but it will get the job done.

I agree with Fielies- the Sulivan 24v starter is the way to go. You will need more power, a larger or multiple batteries will be necessary, also. With multiple batteries and more power, you'll burn the smaller starter out in no time, they were not made to take that kind of abuse. Its not cheap, and you'll have to mount your own aligator clips, but believe me, you'll notice a big difference. You may also want to condsider a starter handle for it, but you can get that at a later date.
