35ccQD lag

Piratefish created the topic: 35ccQD lag

I have an 35cc 30 degrees adv AP4 QD in a stryker hydro. There is a lag when I punch it. It takes about 40 - 70 feet until I get full throttle... I have replaced the diafram in carb, its a wyk33 something???? Dry running it revs up fast no lag.The motor has been sitting for about 9 years. I am now back in the sport with my nine year old son.

Any help???

Try richening up the low circuit a tad.

* On top of the throttle barrel right in the middle is a clear plastic cap, remove it and insert a jewelers screw driver down the hole, turn the needle pin CCW @ 1/4 turn at a time while out testing. Likely that will pert it up for you.

Thanks sooo much

I have always woundered how to richen or lean out these carbs! I am leaving for vacation with the family for two weeks, but I will test it out when we return and let you know.

One more Q is the screw with the spring on the side of the carb for the idle, and how many turns should I start at?? ( Its been nine years)

Thanks again

The side screw is the high end needle. The adjustment Scott was talking about is the low speed adjustment that moves a needle in a tube at the center of the carb. Because all the fuel goes through this tube, the low speed adjustment effects high speed running as well.
