Best Zenoah parts distributor????

skyray created the topic: Best Zenoah parts distributor????

After a lot of searching, reading, etc. I find a LOT of companies advertising accessories and parts for Zen engines! In your honest opinion guys, which would be the best or most reputable in so far as having parts for a complete rebuild ( not just add on accessories or a few external parts) I'm talking major parts: rings, bearings, gaskets, oil seals,etc)....A company that stocks all the parts all the time, quick turn around service and highly regarded as \"best company to buy parts from\"
From what I have researched,I find most only offer add on performance parts,or accessories,or offering modded engines or rebuilds......I need a company I can get any part for a Zen engine, stock or performance parts without a lot of hassels and turn around time, back orders, out of stock, etc. Company name, location, and a phone # or address would be greatly appreciated!thanks guys!

Goped dealers like Dave's Discount Motors at www.davesmotors.com/goped-geo-sport.htm are also good sources of parts.

Scott,
Thanks for the support.

Lohring,
I know you are only posting your opinion and I do not want you to think that I upset with that, but I would like to point a few things out.

There are a very few people including myself in the boating hobby that are making there living and putting food on the table from the things we sell and market. When you send people to other areas of the hobby market to purchase parts that pertain to our section of the hobby instead of companies like mine that do support this hobby, you are actually only hurting the hobby that you are in. I do my best to support both of the organizations (NAMBA, IMPBA) each year with donations and class sponsorships with a lot of the races all over the country. I also travel to most of the big races each year to speak with customers and to show my support. I am constantly working on new products and my prices are very competitive. We also spend a lot of time each and everyday on the phone and answering e-mails to help people with there boats and setups to make sure that they get the most out of there boats and the hobby itself. I do not believe you will find that kind of support from the GoPed community when you are buying boat parts from them. If companies like mine do not receive support from racers like yourself they will eventually start to disappear and this hobby will only get smaller then it already is. If you want to help our hobby grow then support the companies that support the hobby. I hope that this does not come across in a bad way, I just wanted to share my thoughts on this subject.

I definitely agree with Carlo's statement on this. There are many suppliers out there selling stuff at rock bottom prices, but as you quickly learn if you are watching, very few of them actually give back to the hobby in the form of customer tech support, race attendances and sponsorships. I know Carlo is at many races helping people out, heck I pitted with him a few times and we barely had time to talk during the races because boaters left and right were always after him for help and advice. They (CC Racing) also sponsor a huge amount of races. I know what this is about as Modelgasboats.com sponsors races every year, even though we basically make enough income to continue operating. The reason for this is I sincerely believe in supporting the hobby and making it grow. We are almost at the point of having to renew our server contract again, and as with every year it will be tight seeing as though we have been doing our best to support races and continue doing product builds/reviews.

I for one will not support Goped dealers and such that do not support the boating hobby. I feel the same way about Zenoah knock offs...Zenoah support this hobby through sponsorships every year...I have never seen CY do the same, or any other primary engine manufacturers for that matter. Maybe I missed it if it did happen...

Just for the record, by \"Primary Engine Manufacturers\" in my above post, I did not mean engine modifiers/builders. I meant, companies like Zenoah, CY, QD, JG, etc... :)

I apologize to Carlo and others who sell us engines and boating supplies for a living. They not only supply the parts, but also supply information along with them. It's like the local hobby shop versus on line shopping. The local shop in my area, Eugene Toy and Hobby, has been in business a long time because their staff of experienced modelers in all the areas can help newcomers. They try to support boating (our club president works there), but there are very few boaters in our area. I buy from them first, but also shop on line with the big as well as specialty model boat retailers.
