I have red hat the engine must be warm to tune the carb so that it runs well at low, medium and high range. While doing this on dry land,and without watercooling, is there any risk that the engine is overheating?

yes it will and very fast, should always have water running through the system.can get an adapter to fit onto garden hose and bushed down to fit a water line. then turn on abit of water to flow .

Keep in mind that the bench has no example of what it is going to do when it hits the water. You have no load against it on the stand and when you do gt it sounding right. It will be too lean and probably quit when it hits the water.
