Just noticed that Joe P. has made very clear his opinion about two stroke
motor oil. One oil gets his blessing:
Amsoil Saber Pro

I have to agree with him, Saber Pro is really "good oil" IMHO. Not that I've ever
used any. The only guide I've ever followed in selecting a motor oil for my
toy boats is whether or not it it comes from a reputable oil company (big name)
and the product meets JASO FC and FD grade specs. Last time I checked, Saber Pro
is the only two stroke oil Amsoil makes that meets JASO FC and FD.
There are others well worth considering - especially if they are locally available.
Prices for the oils which meet JASO FC and FD are all up and down the scale -
everybody has to make their own decision on what they should pay to get "good oil".
Just as an example: I was in Lowes (big box hardware here in the USA) and the yard
tool department had two different brands of two stroke oil which meet JASO FC and
FD. That really surprised me because there are a few big name oil companies that
don't have a single product meeting JASO FC and FD - probably because they don't
submit for testing or they cannot come up with a formula that delivers the goods.
Trouble is, that's not my problem - it's their problem.
