Zen 29 topkit & RCMK crankcasing

Madazahatter created the topic: Zen 29 topkit & RCMK crankcasing

Hopefully some 1 can help,im pretty new to 2strokes and only worked on my RZK30
Im attempting my 1st Zen build i recently brought a new zen very cheap and decided to use it for some doner parts,iv brought a rcmk casing and zen 29cc topkit,Bigbore carb, also had the piston relieved and lightend ,iv read the articles for zen porting and the rcmk modding ,and iv got a couple of questions,
1. what are the advantages of cutting down the transfer bridge
2. would modding the rcmk crankcase like in the article (enlarging the trough) make much difference
3. what timings and squish would suit the build with these items
Thanks M

I won't reply to the 3 questions you have (I will let others do that), but I do recommend you get a Zen 1mm stroked Marine crank. It will fit right in the Zen 36mm bore PUM cylinder with no gasket stacking under the cylinder (just use stock Zen gasket), and you will still have about .020" (.5mm) of verticle squish clearance. The 1mm crank is a good set up that is making waves.
