I have not personally tested....but I have been told by several engine guys that floating of the reeds at the high rpm we run becomes a problem. Just repeating what I was told.
The info with them says they are good for 20,000rpm, I know that reed valves are fitted to many two-strokes but not many can rev to the same rpm as a RCMK type engine. Thanks
From what I have found out it seems reeds are no use at constant high rpm, more useful in say a motor cross bike where the engine needs to accelerate from a lower rpm. They also don't seem to be able to cope with 15,000 + rpm, the reeds can fluter and breakup. (This is how I understand it)
