RCMK makes a nice engine but there starters well..suck. I have upgraded all my RCMK's with Zenoah EZ starts (best starter for any engine IMO). You can also use a standard Zenoah starter.

Hi Mate
Hi have the same problem and still I buy a new pully zenoah EZ but still lots of compression to roll the engine.
In Gizmo the say :Note it is imperative that a shortened collet be used with this four bearing engine or major damage will occur to the bearings.
I m still waiting for a help...

Don't know if you have seen the articles on Jim' RC boat dock, but RCMK starters have copped a lot of flack lately. The bottom line is that the only starter that can handle the larger capacity engines is the Zenoah Ezi-start. The latest RCMK starters have an Aluminium drive dog, which is much better than their plastic effort, but then the ropes break. The US distributor now sells RCMK engines without starters, and you can buy whichever starter you like. Zenoah have just released a 29cc engine, and it has an Ezi-starter as standard.
