F-270 Four Bolt
New Chung Yang F-270 4 Bolt Base Engine Specs

now i know many are going to reply about plating issues and all the common cy issues many have faced in the passed, To get things straight so that we can use these engines with out the reliability factor being in the toilet.
the new design is very promising i will provide a link to where u can view pictures of the very impressive 4 bolt 230 as well. no 270 pictures are available as of yet, but the internals do look the same. there are many positive changes on this new cy, among them is better plating which appears to be excellent! the new cy case will accept a zen top end with the simple change from the torx bolts supplied to a set of Allen head bolts.
the dome has a flat squish area, the intake side transfers are higher than the opposing transfers, the int and e. ports are 180 degrees of each other, the piston ring locating pin has been centered on the intake side of the piston, the exhaust port has been moved up, the piston skirt has been modified with a larger cut out in the skirts, along with many other high performance geared improvements! the engine is a true 26.9cc, it has a 35mm bore and 28mm stroke, a combo that always makes great power! enjoy the info, soon more to come!

Good Day
Sounds like a infomercerial for Sikk - I guess if the only engine you ever ran is a Sikk then it would be good. When you get to quality and compatability go Zen.

As a note I have never even seen a race but do build several boats a year and have for 10+ years. So I'm not a Racer

Sikk needs to do improvements --- A LOT OF IMPROVEMENTS starting with case

Why would I spend money on a 4 bolt Sikk when a RCMK is cheaper, better quality and more horsepower

Many computer warriors and 'racers' out there but poking your head out to tell everyone how good something is when you have no experience with other products only shows how little you know -

Have fun (invest in recoil parts)

Oh and don't insult us by saying 'we don't know how to mix oil and do reg maintenance - give me a break

And I build my own boats - i don't pay people to build boats

Actually you said "when I pay good money for people to build my boats" - then went back and edited it

Spare me

What's there to be sorry for
I stand by what I said and have no need to change it

My view (After have maybe 25 gas engines and still have 3 Sikk) is they are a 'short term disposable engine' kinda like cheap import cars

Pretty much a waste of breath (typing) here as you think they (Sikk) are great .........

Me ..... I think NOT ... a waste of money

I think the reason most people, including myself, are reluctant to think of CY engines as comparables to Zens is quite simply because of their past track record. Who knows though, maybe they will end up with a better engine this time around. Time will tell.

I had Carlos rework my 2 Cy 27's in my Kat... He was impressed with the way they are now built (2mm stroker, porting, sososo) but that probably won't change the way he feels about Zenoahs, because they are a proven screamer. Me, I'm happy as can be with my CY's, and I love my Jersey Skiff with a Zen. I think the biggest issue is, "what do you want to get out of the hobby?" I've built boats with weedeater motors and had a blast with them!!! It's the same as the old Chevy vs. Ford battle...piss on both of them, I'll stick with my Toyota!!!

I mean come on guys...take Woodie and myself for example. We jack with each other, but we never down each other!!! Or their opinion.....

Race, sport, or S#@T and giggles, in the end...IT'S ALL JUST A HOBBY!!!!

Have a GREAT day....Doug.

Ok guys ... every one has an opinion and in here the right too share their view.
No need for any tensions or piss on em type comments (isuzudude) :P

Sadly for Cy/Sikk the damage is done and getting back old customers or new ones for that matter when the word on the street is not generally positive

It is a well known fact by those in business that keeping existing customers and getting new customers by word of mouth is a FAR FAR FAR easier job than doing damage control and PR articles such as posted to get once loyal customers to return along with those who believe what they read and get told by other users.

Personally seen far too many burnt up cranks, bent rods to take them very seriously at this juncture :pinch: ( see just another opinion ) Looks and quality of the execution making a Very Nice looking product has never been the issue, actual quality of the metallurgy used is
